Tonight we are introducing you to one of our BPL Squad members… Anthony Menendez!

Anthony has been a welcomed edition to the Brisbane Knights family joining us in 2016 and then coming home again last season with our U20’s Squad. Anthony was quickly noticed again by our Senior Coaching staff as a player to watch. His work ethic, consistency and sportsmanship at training and on the pitch embodies some of the many values of Brisbane Knights FC.
We sat down with Anthony and asked him some question:
Q: At what age did you fall in love with Football and why?
A: I fell in love with football at the age of 4 when I first started playing at my family’s clubhouse. Coming from a family who love football to death it was easy to follow the path of my dad, older brother and sister.
Q: How long have you been playing and what has your playing history been to date?
A: I started at age 4, continued at El Salvador soccer club in Yeronga (families clubhouse) until I was 14 where I moved to Souths for 2 seasons, 2016 was my first season at Knights playing city and reserves. I then returned to Souths in 2017 to play under 18’s and reserves before coming back to my home BKFC in 2018-present.
Q: What has been some highlights in your playing history?
A: One of my highlights here has to be winning the best player of the year for the city team for knights in 2016 when I first started off as a young 16 yr old.
Q: What would you like to achieve with the squad this season?
A: I would love this squad to achieve a top 4 finish as I have more than enough faith that we can do it with the talent we currently have in the squad
Q: What do you love most about Brisbane Knights?
A: This club is just different compared to any other club in Brisbane. Along with many life long friends I’ve met here the community, coaches and supporters are all a big family that support each other and it’s great to see unity in such a great club.
